‘First Holy Communion 2021’

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Saturday 2nd May 2021 First Holy Communion will be celebrated in St. Teresa’s Church at the following times:

• 10.00am for P4A (Mrs Walsh’s Class and Miss Friel’s class)
• 11:30am for P4B (Mrs Rennie’s Class)
• 1:00pm for P4C (Miss Calpin’s Class)

In order to make this a memorable and enjoyable occasion for all, please take note of the following arrangements.

• First Communicants will sit in the front rows of the Church together in their class bubble.
• Two Family members of the First Communicants will then sit in the rows behind at a safe social distance. If restrictions change allowing more family members to attend, you will be notified as soon as possible.
• Please do not bring the following items into the church; bags, rosaries, gloves etc. so that the children will not be distracted during the Mass.
• Please keep hair dressing simple. (flowers or ribbons for girls)

In normal circumstances children would be wearing robes over the Communion dresses and suits, however this year with the need to sanitise clothing this is not possible. Robes will not be distributed this year.

Sadly, due to current restrictions we will not be able to host refreshments after the First Communion Service, however, there will be a small treat for children which parents may collect when exiting the church.

There will be no photography during the mass. The school will take a class photo after the service, the children will be taken directly from their seat to the front of the church. Children will be directed down to your seat after the photograph has been taken. You can then exit the church. Please exit the carpark as soon as possible when leaving, as there are three ceremonies being celebrated on this day.

The ceremony will be filmed by Pat from Cave Videos and the DVD can be purchased for £10.00. (Please complete the separate order form if you would like to avail of this and send in the order form along with £10.00 in a sealed envelope to your child’s class teacher).
